The Roncalli High School faculty, staff and administration wishes all in the Roncalli Family a safe, blessed and happy Thanksgiving. While many families may be still dealing with the effects of the pandemic we will be praying for God's blessings on all! May each person know of the Savior's unceasing love for them and know of His blessings on all family and friends.
Chuck Weisenbach announced on Tuesday that Kevin Banich, who has served as the school’s interim principal since July 1, 2021, has officially been named Principal, effective immediately. He is the sixth principal in the school’s 53 years of existence.
President Weisenbach commented, “Kevin has served our school in exemplary fashion since taking on the interim role this past summer. He received high praise for his work to date when I sought feedback from our parents, faculty, staff and administration. We are fortunate to have such a dynamic leader whose passion for Catholic education and young people is evident on a daily basis. Roncalli will be well served under his leadership.”
Banich is currently in his ninth year at the school and prior to being named interim principal had served in the roles of teacher, Assistant Principal for Student Life, and assistant coach in the football and track and field programs. Reflecting on his being named principal, he remarked, “It is an honor to serve Roncalli in this role and continue to move our school forward with its high standards of excellence. I am blessed to have this opportunity to lead an outstanding school that has been built on tradition, focused on a mission, and filled with exceptional people from all walks of life.”

The deadline for logging service hours is coming up. Here is a rundown of what's required:
The first-semester requirement is 18 hours for all grades. Service hours count for 10% of the student's semester grade in their theology class. All hours logged and verified since the beginning of the summer break will count toward the semester one requirement.
Students should check their service logs and if their entry is more than a week old without verification, please have them check the email of the supervisor as sometimes this is entered incorrectly by the student and the supervisor never receives the verification email.
For questions about logging service hours in MobileServe, email Julie Albertson. For questions about what counts as service and where to find service opportunities, email Gerard Striby.

With winter fast approaching, here is our elearning learning plan that is stated in the student handbook:
The school calendar traditionally has four days designated as “Snow Make-up Days”: Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Easter Monday and the final Friday of the school year. Should we cancel school for any reason during the school year, we will use the next “Snow Make-up Day” available on the school calendar as an E-learning day. Students will not report physically to school on an E-learning day. They will be required to log into their Canvas account by 10:00 AM for attendance purposes and to complete assignments given to them by their teachers for this E-learning day. Roncalli will not use an E-learning day on the actual day for which school is canceled.
If you missed the Choice Scholarship (formerly known as a voucher), there is a second application window open now until January 15th. Click here for more informaton. If you have any questions or want to see if you qualify, please contact Amy Kuntz.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month! Congratulations to our ASV Lung Nodule and Bronchoscopy Team as they rapidly surpassed their 100th Ion robotic bronchoscopy case. This game changing technology is helping to make a difference and save lives as it helps biopsy nodules to diagnose early stage lung cancers. It is important to talk to your physicians to see if you qualify for a Low Dose CT scan for lung cancer screening. The LDCT is a preventative screening test to help detect problems at its earliest stage and proven to reduce lung cancer mortality.
