Last weekend, the Roncalli Archery team competed in the 2021 National Archery School Program Indiana State Competition. The Royals placed 10th in the State! The team scored an all time high of 3245. Leading the way was senior Hayden Willis with a personal high score of 285. Junior Isaac Kappes was second on the team with a score of 279. Senior Callie Clowers was awarded an Indiana NASP Scholarship. After a great showing this season and at the state competition, the Royals move onto Nationals in May. Due to Covid, this will be a virtual tournament this year.
Senior Madelyn Bischoff has been selected as one of 14 players for the 2021 IndyStar Indiana Girls Basketball All-Star team. Those chosen to the team will play in three games in June – one exhibition game against the Indiana Junior All-Stars, as well as home-and-home contests against the Kentucky All-Stars.
Bischoff is Roncalli’s sixth girls basketball Indiana All-Star. Bischoff finished her Roncalli career with 1,532 points, ranking third on the program’s career scoring list. She owns the program record for most 3-pointers made in a season (182) and most points in a postseason game (39). This past season, she averaged 21.4 points per game in helping lead Roncalli to a 20-5 record and its first girls basketball sectional title since 2016.
“Our program is completely ecstatic for Maddie,” said head coach Tim Gray. “This is a testament to her hard work, time and the effort she put forth to challenge herself and improve her game. We also hope this provides an inspiration to the girls playing in our program and to those future Roncalli Royals to set high goals and have the discipline and work ethic to reach them.”

Spring Break began with the dismissal of school at 2:30 PM today, March 18. School will resume at 7:15 AM on Monday, March 29.
To maintain the integrity of the school calendar and instructional time, Roncalli does not allow a family to extend Spring Break by leaving early or returning late without a significant academic penalty. For full details on the policy, please click on the link at the end of the newsletter. Thank you to our parents who have given us tremendous support of this policy through the years.

This year Sacred Heart is using “Praying with St. John XXIII” adapted by Bill Huebsch for stations of the cross.
Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
1530 Union Street,
The essence of Pope John XXIII’s ministry is that we are immersed in the dying and rising of Christ. This message is certainly timely with the current turmoil in our society. Based on extensive scholarship and prayerful study, the fourteen Stations of the Cross have been faithfully adapted to the message and teaching of John XXIII. Each traditional prayer will be combined with video, music and reflections on John XXIII’s life that resonates in our modern world. Please join us as we seek to grow in Christ's gift of salvation. Masks and social distancing required.
