All of us at Roncalli High School hope that you and your loved ones enjoyed a wonderful celebration of Christmas and the Christmas season! May 2020 be filled with good health and God’s abundant blessings for all in the Roncalli Family!
Parents and students, please access second semester schedules through Family Link in preparation for attending school on Monday, January 6th. Report card grades will be accessible from Family Link the evening of January 6.
The first semester came to an end on Friday, December 20 with the completion of first semester exams. School will reconvene with the start of the second semester on Monday, January 6 at 7:30 AM. Report cards will be distributed to students in their eighth period class on Wednesday, January 8. Should you have any questions about a grade, please contact the classroom teacher first. Should questions still exist after that communication, please contact Mrs. Kathy Arruda, the Assistant Principal for Academics.
Auditions for the spring play, “You Can’t Take It with You” will be held Tuesday, January 14 and Wednesday, January 15. Audition forms, tech forms and audition sign up sheets will be available January 6 outside the box office. Completed tech forms are due on January 16 by 3:00 PM.
Roncalli High School will dismiss at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 9, for teachers to participate in their monthly department meetings.
A reminder that Monday, January 20 (Martin Luther King Day) is scheduled as a free day on the school calendar but will be used as an E-learning/Snow make-up day should we have to cancel school for a day between now and then.

Please mark your calendar! Our award (letter) jacket representative will return to Roncalli to take orders on January 30th and 31st! Purchasing information will be available when we return to school after Christmas Break!
ACT National Testing Day at Roncalli takes place on February 8th. Just as athletes prefer to play on their home court/field, test takers feel more at ease when testing at their own school. Don’t miss this opportunity to take the ACT on your “home court”!! There is a limited number of seats available at our location and the deadline to register is Friday, January 10th. Registration fees for the ACT are $52.00 without the essay portion and $68.00 with the essay. Are you eligible to take the ACT for free? Certain 11th- and 12th-grade students who meet income-based eligibility criteria may be able to apply for a fee waiver. Go to act.org today for more information and to register!
We are looking for a committee of enthusiastic volunteers to help plan our golden Rebelation. Rebelation is our annual party that raises funds for tuition assistance. The night consists of food, drinks, silent and live auctions, raffles, student entertainment and fun.
Make a tax-deductible donation to our silent and live auctions. We are in need of the following items: vacation rentals, tickets to local sporting events like Indy 500, Colts, Pacers, Notre Dame, IU, Purdue and Butler, behind the scenes experiences, home improvement services, gift cards, etc.
If you can help or have an item to donate, please email Jeen Endris.

It could be seen as silly to talk about spring break and next year’s moratorium week but many of our families have to make travel arrangements well in advance for a variety of family related reasons. Spring Break will begin with the dismissal of school at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 26. School will resume at 7:30 AM on Monday, April 6.
To maintain the integrity of the school calendar and instructional time, Roncalli does not allow a family to extend Spring Break by leaving early or returning late without a significant academic penalty. For full details on the policy, please click on the link at the end of the newsletter. Thank you to our parents who have given us tremendous support of this policy through the years.
Additionally, as a member of the Indiana High School Athletic Association, Roncalli High School must adhere to the moratorium week requirements set forth by the association. The 2020 Moratorium Week for the summer of 2020 will be from June 29 - July 6. At Roncalli this means there will be no open gym/no open facilities, no practices, games, rehearsals, etc. There are to be no student activities at all during this week.
