SENIORS & PARENTS OF SENIORS

In order for senior scholarships to be recognized at the Academic Awards Banquet as well as in the printed Graduation program, seniors must enter all of the scholarships the senior has been awarded into Naviance – even if the student does not plan to accept that scholarship. The deadline to enter this info is 11:59 PM on Monday, April 1. Specific instructions are below.

LEARN MORE

Directions to submit Senior Scholarship award information:

  1. Log into Naviance (from the RHS homepage here, see link on the left side of page).
  2. Click the "Colleges" tab on the top right side of the screen. Scroll down to "scholarships & money" and click; then click on "scholarship applications". Click on the pink button with a plus sign on the right to add a scholarship. Naviance will only allow you to enter three scholarships at a time.
  3. Click the drop down menu to select a scholarship from the list*
  4. Select the award status: Awarded (on the far right).
  5. Enter the dollar amount awarded: Calculate the total amount of the scholarship. If the scholarship is renewable, calculate the dollar amount for renewable scholarships for four years. E.g. $2000 renewable scholarship for 4 years = $8000.
  6. Once you have entered three scholarships, click "add scholarships" below your entries. The pink button will pop up again so you can add more if necessary.

*Please note: If your scholarship is not listed, please email Mrs. Meyer with the official name of the scholarship and the amount, so the scholarship can be added to the overall scholarship listing as well as your individual scholarship listing. Any other scholarship questions may be directed to your counselor.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Roncalli High School is pleased to offer several scholarships to students currently in grades 9-11 and a few scholarships for current seniors. The eligibility criteria and amount for each scholarship varies from $250-$1,500. All completed applications should be returned to Mr. Banich, Assistant Principal for Student Life, by Monday, April 1 no later than 3:00 PM. The selection process for each scholarship will be determined by the selection committee of each award. The presentation of most of these scholarships will take place at the spring Academic Honors Banquet. The scholarship monies would then be applied to the 2019-2020 tuition unless this is an award for a senior. Any questions regarding RHS scholarships can be directed to Kevin Banich, Assistant Principal for Student Life, at 787-8277 Ext. 284.

RONCALLI HIGH SCHOOL PROM DRESS CODE

Romans 12:1-2 states, "I urge you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, your spiritual worship. Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect." In following the message of scripture, we aspire to honor God in everything we do, including our modest and dignified dress code at all school functions. The following requirements are the guidelines to ensure that every student dresses in a way to show the true beauty of the person.

LEARN MORE

Ladies:

  • FIT: The dress may not reveal all contours of the body while sitting, standing, or dancing.
  • LENGTH: The length of the dress should be no shorter than three inches above of the knee. In addition, no slit, opening, or cut in the dress should go beyond three inches above the knee.
  • CUT: Strapless or two-piece dresses are prohibited, and backless dresses may not be cut below the middle of the back. Dresses should not expose the midriff or cleavage.
  • MATERIAL: Any sheer, lace, or see-through material in the dress cannot expose areas such as the lower back, midriff (sides or front), cleavage, or the upper leg.

Gentlemen:

  • SHIRTS: Button down collared shirts must be worn with a bowtie or tie and remained buttoned at all times.
  • PANTS: Proper fitting dress pants must be worn with closed-toed shoes.

Any student that is violating the policy will not be allowed into the event until his/her attire meets the proper requirements.

If a male has a question about appropriate attire, they must seek input and advice from Mr. Banich. If a female has a question about a dress, they must talk with either Mrs. Bohn or Mrs. Armbruster before purchasing their attire.

SNOW BALL DANCE - THANK YOU!

We had an outstanding showing at the Snow Ball Dance on Saturday evening. There were just over 400 students at the dance last Saturday, and they raised right at $3,000 for the Appalachia Mission Trip!

Special thanks to Tim Crissman, Kim & Gerard Striby, Louise Hibner, Thomas Sheridan, Caroline Reuter, Jennifer Riedford and Kim Buckley for giving up a Saturday night to chaperone the dance.

Also a great job on Saturday night to Sam Gervasio for being the lights and sound guy, Briggs McGill for being the DJ and Athena Tadas and Ellen Schrader for helping plan and execute the dance.

Please pray for the continued success of our Appalachia Mission Trip!
