SENIORS “RUN” RHS ON SENIOR ASSIST DAY

Senior Assist Day 2019

This past Tuesday, we celebrated our annual Senior Assist Day, which provides the seniors the opportunity to take on the responsibilities performed daily by the teachers, administrators, administrative assistants, cafeteria workers and custodians. They apply for a desired position ahead of time, and the RHS person that holds that position is responsible for selecting their senior assist. It has proven to be a valuable day of learning for our seniors through the years. This year’s seniors did a great job taking care of all facets of Roncalli on Tuesday!

TWO SCHOOL CALENDAR CHANGES

All of the changes the state has put in place with the graduation required ISTEP test for sophomores has led us to make two changes to our school calendar for April when this test is administered. Given the length of these tests and their importance to the students, we feel it best to utilize a delayed start for the rest of the school on two days and use this time for administering the ISTEP test to the sophomores (and any juniors/seniors still needing to retest). Thus, the following changes have been made to the school calendar:

LEARN MORE
  • April 8 - School will start at 9:30 AM: All sophomores will report to school at the regular time of 7:30 AM.
  • April 15 - School will start at 9:30 AM; All sophomores will report to school at the regular time of 7:30 AM.

We apologize for any inconvenience this causes our families but we feel strongly that this not only provides our students who are testing the best environment but also provides the best use of instructional time for all other students as well.

INDIANA SENATE PAGE PROGRAM

Did you know you can take a day off from school to serve as a page for the Indiana Senate? State Senator Aaron Freeman invites students in grades 6-12 to come to the Statehouse and spend an exciting day seeing our state government in action. You will have the opportunity to tour the Statehouse, meet Senator Freeman, and observe the legislative session from the Senate floor. Siblings and friends can sign up together, too! Interested students can apply online at the Indiana Senate Republicans homepage.
