Parents are reminded to cooperate with law enforcement officers doing traffic after school. Please follow their directions.

If you are picking up a child on Prague Road and it is backed up to McFarland Road, you are reminded that you cannot sit and block traffic on McFarland Road.

Please wait in St. Jude's parking lot until the line goes down, or go around to LaSalle Street to get into the Roncalli parking lot

Your cooperation is appreciated.

The law enforcement officers move around 900 cars during a busy school dismissal such as the beginning of a school break.

BACK TO SCHOOL & REPORT CARDS

School will reconvene with the start of the second semester on Monday, January 7 at 7:30 AM. Report cards will be distributed to students in their eighth period class on Wednesday, January 9. Should you have any questions about a grade, please contact the classroom teacher first. Should questions still exist after that communication, please contact Mrs. Kathy Arruda, the Assistant Principal for Academics.

EARLY DISMISSAL - THURSDAY, JANUARY 10, 2019

Roncalli High School will dismiss at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 10, for teachers to participate in their monthly department meetings.

REVISED KICK-OFF TO SCHEDULING

The Guidance Department has revised the kick-off to scheduling. Presentations will be on Monday, January 7 to all freshmen, sophomores and juniors. Registration also begins on Monday, January 7 at www.roncalliregistration.org. Please be prepared to pay the $100 registration fee. Registration must be complete by Friday, January 25 in order for students to request their courses during online scheduling Saturday, January 26.

MONDAY, JANUARY 21 (MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY) FREE DAY (SNOW MAKE-UP DAY)

A reminder that Monday, January 21 is scheduled as a free day on the school calendar but would be used as a snow make-up day should we have to cancel school for a day between now and then.

RONCALLI PARENTS ORGANIZATION PRE-GAME MEAL JANUARY 18TH

The Roncalli Parents Organization (RPO) invites you to join us on Friday, January 18th between 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM in the Roncalli cafeteria for a delicious meal. We will be serving chili, hot dogs, dessert and a beverage for only $5/person. After dinner, cheer on your Rebels Boys' Basketball team as they take on New Palestine.

DRIVER EDUCATION INFORMATION FOR 2019

Roncalli High School is one of only a handful of high schools in the entire Indianapolis area that offers students a high quality Driver Education program. The required 30 hours of classroom time are offered in two different formats next spring and/or summer. The required six hours of behind the wheel driving takes place during the month of June. Registration materials will not be distributed until February. We are limiting spots this year. We will be able to accommodate the first 82 students who sign up. To access more information on the Driver Education program that will be available to students in 2019.

PRE-ORDER THE 2018-19 YEARBOOK

The 2018-19 yearbook is now available for pre-order, and what a great it would be for your Roncalli student! Go to yearbookforever.com to order online. If you prefer a paper order, those are available in the main office or in room 109. Yearbooks are $60 until February 15 when the price goes up to $75. Questions may be directed to Mrs. Julie Albertson.

SPRING BREAK & MORATORIUM WEEK 2019 REMINDERS

Some school families make their spring break plans and reservations during the Christmas holiday break. A reminder that Spring Break this school year will begin with the dismissal of school at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 21. School will resume at 7:30 AM on Monday, April 1. To maintain the integrity of the school calendar and instructional time, Roncalli does not allow a family to extend Spring Break by leaving early or returning late without a significant academic penalty. Additionally, as a member of the Indiana High School Athletic Association, Roncalli High School must adhere to the moratorium week requirements set forth by the association. The 2019 Moratorium Week is from June 30 - July 6. At Roncalli, this means there will be no open gym, no open facilities, no practices, games, rehearsals, etc. There are to be no student activities at all during this week.

RHS & UINDY CONTINUE SCHOLARSHIP PARTNERSHIP

Roncalli High School is delighted to continue the scholarship partnership with the University of Indianapolis that will result in UIndy offering eight UIndy/RHS scholarships that will range in value from $14,000 to full tuition. It is important to note that these eight scholarships are available only to RHS graduates. There will be special priority given to students majoring in Engineering, Education or students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to community service or students who intend to pursue a career in church ministry work.

"APRIL IN PARIS, RENDEZVOUS REBELATION" VOLUNTEER CALL OUT! SAVE THE DATE: APRIL 27, 2019

We are looking for a committee of enthusiastic volunteers to help plan "April in Paris, Rendezvous Rebelation." Rebelation is our annual party that raises funds for tuition assistance. The night consists of food, drinks, silent and live auctions, raffles, student entertainment and fun. If you can help or have an item to donate, please email Jeen Endris.
