PERKINS 2018 All-STATE 10TH PlACE

Nick Perkins All State

Congratulations to senior Nick Perkins who placed 10th earning all-state honors (top 25) in the state cross country race on October 24th at the LaVern Gibson course in Terre Haute. He ran a 16:01.8, which is the 8th-fastest time in school history (he has the top 10). Nick's 10th place finish at state was the highest finish by a boys cc runner in our 50 year history. Nick Perkins, we are proud of you!

SPELL BOWL

2018 Spell Bowl Team

On October 29th, Roncalli’s Spell Bowl team placed 2nd with Matthew Cabalan and Samuel Sering as top spellers of the team (scoring 7 out of 9 in each of their rounds). Team members: Sarah Strodtbeck, Matt Cabalan, Mary Alice Furgeson, Ali Dafforn, McKenzie Liegibel, Jeanne Sering, Samuel Sering, Luke Poole, AJ Singh, Mia Ebling and Grace Suiaung. Coaches: Sr. Susan Reuber and Ms. Jennifer Riedford. Congratulations to our Spell Bowl Team!

Roncalli invites all prospective students in 5th – 8th grades, along with their parents and family members, to join us for our Open House on Thursday, November 8th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Click here to learn more.

All facets of school life at Roncalli will be on display. Guests will be able to visit information booths on all academic, extra-curricular and service organizations and have an opportunity to speak with current students, teachers, coaches, club moderators and school administrators. Tours of the school will be available throughout the entire two hour time period.

“GUYS AND DOLLS” TICKETS AVAILABLE

Guys and Dolls

Tickets for the upcoming musical, “Guys and Dolls” are now available. We will be using an online ticketing system for this production. The new system, Booktix, will allow us to sell tickets online right up until the start of each show. In addition, you will now be able to choose your own seat! Tickets can be purchased at roncalli.booktix.com. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for Roncalli students and children 14 years old and younger. Remember to print off your tickets and bring them with you to the show. Tickets will be scanned at the entrance to the auditorium. VIP card holders will need to contact Miki Lewinski or 317-787-8277 Ext. 249 for your promo code to access your free tickets.

JOIN US FOR A FRENCH MASS!

French Club will be attending a French mass at St. Thomas Aquinas on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 12:30 PM. This mass in French is offered every second Sunday of the month. Everyone is invited to come! A bus will be leaving Roncalli at noon if you would like to join us. The address of the church is 4625 N. Kenwood Avenue if you would like to meet us there.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR SENIORS

The Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship is now available! This is a one-time, $2500 scholarship. New this year, students will nominate themselves for this award on Comcast's website. Eligible students must have a demonstrated commitment to community service, outstanding qualities in character, integrity and leadership; reside in one of the communities listed on the program website; have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and demonstrate financial need. All scholarship application materials must be submitted by December 7, 2018 at 5:00 PM EST, in order to be considered. Please see the Guidance carousel or Mrs. Meyer for more info.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR JUNIORS

The Carson Scholars Fund would like to recognize a student who exemplifies academic excellence and humanitarian qualities. This one-time $1,000 college scholarship is awarded to a student with a minimum core 3.75 GPA who has participated in community service above and beyond what is required in school. Roncalli may nominate one student to be considered for this national scholarship. If you would like to be considered to be selected as a nominee, please submit your name, along with a short resume of your service activities and participation, to Mrs. Meyer by Friday, November 30.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

The Honors Economics students will be participating in a Community Poverty Simulation, and we need 20-22 parent volunteers to run this event. We will be working at The Atrium on November 5th from 10:30 AM - 3 PM. If you are available and interested in joining this experience, please contact Betsy Strader for further information.

RONCALLI GIRLS LACROSSE FUNDRAISER

Girls Lacrosse Fundraiser

Grils lacrosse is hosting a dine out night at Moe's Southwest Grill November 9th from 4-9 PM at 7853 US 31 South. The team gets 25% back carry out or dine in when you present the attached flier (print or show the picture on your phone).

HOLY NAME OF JESUS PARISH MISSION

Holy Name of Jesus will be hosting a Parish Mission by Fr. Thomas Sullivan C.S.M from the Fathers of Mercy Sunday, Nov. 4-Wednesday, Nov 7. See flier for start times. Come join us for one night or all the nights. The title of the mission is "The Mercy of God." Divine Mercy, St. Padre Pio, St. Theresa of Calcutta and the Blessed Sacrament will be discussed. Fantastic talks along with Adoration and confession opportunities! There will be snacks following the closing session on Wednesday! You do not need to be a parishioner to attend, and it is at no cost to you (free). Everything takes place in the church.
