Band Director Kathy Peach and the Roncalli Marching Band performed at five South Deanery Schools on Thursday, September 20th. The schools were Central Catholic, St. Mark, Holy Name, St. Roch and Our Lady of the Greenwood. Many thanks to principals Ruth Hurrle, Rusty Albertson, Robert Kitchens, Amy Wilson and Kent Clady for their kind hospitality.
Roncalli's South Deanery shadowing visits have begun! Last week, the Central Catholic Saints joined us on Friday. Each school that visits enjoys a pre-day program, spends time in two classes, eats lunch down in the cafeteria, hears from different students and administrators and watches a performance by the Roncalli Show Choir. We are excited to welcome the rest of our deanery schools throughout the rest of the semester!
Rebel students, teachers and staff members did a dynamite job with this week’s Spirit Week as some of the pictures can attest! Special thanks to the RHS Student Council and its fearless leader, Ryan Costello, for their efforts in putting together this year’s dress-up themes and for all of their efforts in making this week, Homecoming game and dance so much fun!
On September 18, Roncalli’s own Julie Albertson received the “Servant Leader of the Year Award” from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. The Archbishop of Indianapolis Charles Thompson presented the award to Albertson at SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral. This award is presented to a person who works with young people in ministry. Albertson is most recognized for her work as the Youth Minister at St. Mark’s.
Please evaluate if you can help these students with their transportation needs.

Parents of freshman and other students new to Roncalli must "opt-in" to our School Messenger system in order to receive urgent notifications via text message from RHS. This would include notification of weather-related delays or cancellations, or any other time-sensitive situation that the school needed to communicate to you. Parents are automatically registered to receive emails and phone calls -- this additional step is required only to receive text messages.
To register your number, text "Y" (for "yes") to 67587. You should receive a response that says you are registered.
Parents who have changed their mobile phone number in the last year must also go through the opt-in process to receive mobile calls and texts. Please contact Linda Simpkins should you have any questions.
During the months of September and October, nearly eighty college and university admission representatives will visit Roncalli during the school day. Sophomores are allowed to sign up for one of these daytime visits, and juniors and seniors are allowed to sign up for unlimited visits. In order to sign up for these visits, students must register on Naviance no later than 7:30 AM the day BEFORE the scheduled visit; no late registrations will be allowed. A list of upcoming visits can be found on the "College Rep Visits to RHS" tab of the Guidance BLAST and will also be tweeted out every day through the RHS Guidance twitter @RHSGuide. In addition, these visits will be announced at school during daily announcements. Students may see Mrs. Meyer with any questions!
