A required freshman parent meeting was instituted ten years ago primarily as a means to establish or ensure some “common ground” between our parents as primary educators and Roncalli as secondary educators. The meetings have received positive reviews from parents. Any parent/guardian of a freshman who previously has not had a freshman child at Roncalli needs to attend one of these Required Freshman Parents meetings.

There have been four opportunities for parents to attend. The remaining date is September 18. The meeting begins at 7:00 PM in the school’s auditorium and will end promptly at 8:30 PM.

NOTE: Parents who have had a freshman student previously at Roncalli are not required to attend one of these meetings. Failure to attend one of these meetings will result in the student not being allowed to stay at Roncalli for the second semester of the school year.

Please direct all questions to principal, Chuck Weisenbach, at 787-8277, extension 224.

Parents of freshman and other students new to Roncalli must "opt-in" to our School Messenger system in order to receive urgent notifications via text message from RHS. This would include notification of weather-related delays or cancellations, or any other time-sensitive situation that the school needed to communicate to you. Parents are automatically registered to receive emails and phone calls -- this additional step is required only to receive text messages.

To register your number, text "Y" (for "yes") to 67587. You should receive a response that says you are registered.

Parents who have changed their mobile phone number in the last year must also go through the opt-in process to receive mobile calls and texts. Please contact Linda Simpkins should you have any questions.

Please join Roncalli High School on Wednesday, September 19 in the auditorium at 7 PM to welcome a representative from Elements Financial! This is a great evening to learn more about the general financial aspects of college planning. All grade level students and parents are invited to attend.

During the months of September and October, nearly eighty college and university admission representatives will visit Roncalli during the school day. Sophomores are allowed to sign up for one of these daytime visits, and juniors and seniors are allowed to sign up for unlimited visits. In order to sign up for these visits, students must register on Naviance no later than 7:30 AM the day BEFORE the scheduled visit; no late registrations will be allowed. A list of upcoming visits can be found on the "College Rep Visits to RHS" tab of the Guidance BLAST and will also be tweeted out every day through the RHS Guidance twitter @RHSGuide. In addition, these visits will be announced at school during daily announcements. Students may see Mrs. Meyer with any questions!
