This year's Canned Food Drive has been an overwhelming success! Thank you to all in the Roncalli community who supported this year's revamped Canned Food Drive. Over the course of one week, 1,078 students and staff donated 7,014 cans and $29,959! Including the money, this totals the equivalent of 66,932 cans! We DOUBLED last year's participation and donation totals! These donations will be distributed to local food pantries that serve the Indianapolis community.
Be sure to mark your calendars for our annual blood drive, scheduled for Tuesday, October 30 from 2:00-8:00 PM. More info coming soon.

A required freshman parent meeting was instituted ten years ago primarily as a means to establish or ensure some “common ground” between our parents as primary educators and Roncalli as secondary educators. The meetings have received positive reviews from parents. Any parent/guardian of a freshman who previously has not had a freshman child at Roncalli needs to attend one of these Required Freshman Parents meetings. Click here to learn more.
There have been four opportunities for parents to attend. The remaining date is September 18. The meetings begin at 7:00 PM in the school’s auditorium and will end promptly at 8:30 PM.
NOTE: Parents who have had a freshman student previously at Roncalli are not required to attend one of these meetings. Failure to attend one of these meetings will result in the student not being allowed to stay at Roncalli for the second semester of the school year.
Please direct all questions to principal, Chuck Weisenbach, at 787-8277, extension 224.

Parents of freshman and other students new to Roncalli must "opt-in" to our School Messenger system in order to receive urgent notifications via text message from RHS. This would include notification of weather-related delays or cancellations, or any other time-sensitive situation that the school needed to communicate to you. Parents are automatically registered to receive emails and phone calls -- this additional step is required only to receive text messages.
To register your number, text "Y" (for "yes") to 67587. You should receive a response that says you are registered.
Parents who have changed their mobile phone number in the last year must also go through the opt-in process to receive mobile calls and texts. Please contact Linda Simpkins should you have any questions.

Beginning this past week, college admissions reps began to visit Roncalli during the school day. As of now, at least sixty-five representatives from different colleges and universities have signed up to visit during the school day between now and November 1. Sophomores are allowed one of these school day visits and juniors and seniors are allowed unlimited visits. Please note that each visit has a maximum number of students allowed per visit and that once that maximum is reached, no other students will be able to join. Students must also register for these through Naviance by 7:30 AM the day before the visit, no late registrations will be accepted. Check the Guidance BLAST here or Naviance for an up-to-date listing of the reps scheduled to visit!
